My Better Half Marathon 2016!

It was an awesome day! I have been making running a part of my life in 2016 and so far it is going well. I have found myself actually wanting to go on a run and even saying things like “I like running.” It’s crazy and awesome and something I have been wanting to do. My leg of the relay race was 5 miles and as Cassidy said it was my longest mileage to date. It felt really good to hit this point in running and it makes the idea of running this distance again not so scary.
I owe most of my success in this race to Cassidy. Leading up to it she helped keep me on track with running so that I could do this distance and I also used the philosophy she told me about to “run the mile you’re in.” I did the first 2.5 miles, which is a distance I’ve many times before, and after that I just kept thinking that right then I felt good so I would keep running. I didn’t think about the distance or the time. I just thought about how in each moment I felt like I could keep running, so I did. The next thing I knew the end was coming up. It felt amazing.
